Thasun Amarasinghe is a renowned herpetologist international known for his research work in South and South-East Asia. Thasun is the editor-in-chief of TAPROBANICA the Journal of Asian Biodiversity which is now regarded as a leading venue for the biodiversity conservation in tropical Asian region. Also he is an editorial advisor of HERPETOTROPICOS, Journal on Tropical Amphibians & Reptiles (ISSN: 1690-7930). Thasun has a strong commitment to furthering the IUCN’s vision and mission. He is an expert member of the National Red Listing Committee for the Ministry of Environment, Government of Sri Lanka, and a commission member of the following IUCN committees: CEM South East Asia including Climate Change Adaptation Thematic Group and Red List of Ecosystems Thematic Group; IUCN Species Survival Commission (Amphibian Specialist Group and Crocodile Specialist Group).
