Known as "Frogman of India", Professor Sathyabham Das Biju is one of the world's leading amphibian experts who has described over 80 new amphibian species, eight new genera, and two new families. An open general lecture has been held with Prof. S. D. Biju as the main speaker on March 18, 2017 in Kampus UI Depok. The lecture also featured Prof. Jatna Supriatna (chairman of RCCC UI) and Dr. Mirza Dikari Kusrini (Bogor Agriculture University) as speakers.
Climate change is a natural phenomenon which becomes more complicated in terms of prediction due to various dimensions such as ethics, politics, economics, and humanity which affecting one another. This has been acknowledged and has been an important issue by many of UI’s scientists through their research topics. Through Research Center for Climate Change (RCCC–UI), some of scientists represent multi-disciplinarians and knowledge, and thus become the great opportunity to influence the nation’s policy developments as well as supporting adaptation schemes of local people.
