Advanced Reptile Taxonomy Training
This seven-day training will be held at RCCC UI (PAU building fl. 8,5) and LIPI Bogor from 9.00 to 17.00. This training is open for the participants who have completed the Basic Reptile Taxonomy course at RCCC UI. It will be covering the topics of:
- Research project on focal taxa (individual)
- Two-day lab work at LIPI Bogor
- Morphometric analysis (software)
- Principal Component Analysis (PCA)
- Research paper writing
- Final research manuscript submit to a journal
- Public research article (compulsory)
The training is conducted both in classrooms and laboratories, followed up by a research project and research paper publishing. Participants are taught about advanced reptile taxonomy and morphometric analysis. After that, participants are trained to conduct their own research and complete the research manuscript. Finally they have to submit the manuscript to an international journal (compulsory) and will be published free of charge. Sessions are hosted by Thasun Amarasinghe and Nurul Winarni (both are RCCC UI Research Associates).
Seeing the participants' great enthusiasm and their requests, we are planning to open the first batch on September 21 – 27, 2014 (7 days full).
Training fee: Rp850.000
Included: lunch for seven days; study materials and equipment; transport (UI – LIPI)
Not included: accomodation
The following stuffs have to bring by the participants:
- 2B or HB pencil
- Note book
- Laptop
