Sustainable Development Solutions Network

Each country and region faces a unique set of challenges in achieving sustainable development. The SDSN initiative is thus encouraging countries and regions to develop chapters to address local needs. The establishment of SDSN Indonesia will allow members to focus on specific challenges and the solutions and strategies that will help propel Indonesia towards its sustainability goals. 

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono launched the Sustainable Development Solutions Network Indonesia and Southeast Asian regional hub [SDSN-SEA] at the inaugural Tri Hita Karana International Conference on Sustainable Development during APEC 2013 in Bali on 6 October, 2013

SDSN Indonesia is currently chaired by Dr. JatnaSupriatna of the Research Center for Climate Change at the University of Indonesia, jointly with United in Diversity (Yayasan Upaya Indonesia Damai). In the first SDSN Indonesia coordination meeting on August 20^th, 2013 under the auspices of Leadership Council Member H.E. Minister Mari Pangestu, the key areas of focus selected were tourism, environment, education, and health. These offer strong leverage points and opportunities for solving sustainable development challenges.

Founding Members of SDSN Indonesia

Together with its members, SDSN Indonesia will establish its vision and mission and then proceed to recommend and support solutions for sustainable development. Members come from academic and research institutions, research centers, think tanks and associations.

As of October 2013, 25 institutions and organizations have committed to joining SDSN Indonesia to contribute their expertise (applications to UN SDSN are in progress). The members list:
